IRAN, Qajars. Fath 'Ali Shah, as Shah, AH 1212-1250 / AD 1797-1834. 1/2 Toman (Gold, 25 mm, 2.81 g, 12 h), type T2, Tabriz, AH 1228 = AD 1813. The king’s name and title within a dotted circle, ‘al-sulṭān ibn al-sulṭān Fatḥ ʿAlī Shāh Qājār’ (‘Sultan, son of Sultan, Fath ʿAli Shah Qajar’ in Arabic/Persian). Rev. Within a circle, ‘zarb-e dār al-salṭana Tabrīz sana 1228’ (‘Struck in the Abode of the Sultanate Tabriz, year 1228’ in Persian). Album 2862. Very rare. Pierced twice and with traces of mounting, otherwise, very fine.
